Liturgical manuscripts is a broad category of manuscripts created for use during Christian religious services. These include: Antiphonals, Calendars, Graduals, Homiliaries, Mass books (books used during the Mass), Missals, Office books (books used by monastics to recite the daily office), Psalters, Sacramentaries, Sermons. Liturgical manuscripts differ by rite and by use. They represent the largest number of manuscripts in monastic or cathedral libraries, and they were produced in manuscript form well into the 18th century.
